Scams are more common than ever. In 2025, Canadians lost over $704 million to fraud. That is only what was reported. Experts estimate only 5 to 10% of fraud is ever reported, meaning the true losses are far higher. [1] [2]
The good news is that most scams can be avoided once you know what to look for. You do not need to be a tech expert. You just need to know a few warning signs.
